Garrison Diversion Awards $184,460 in Matching Recreation Grants

CARRINGTON, ND (October 20, 2016) – The Garrison Diversion Conservancy District’s Recreation Committee recently awarded matching recreation grants to eleven projects totaling $184,460. Projects varied from developing a walking trail to installing playground equipment.

The following applicants received grant approval from the committee:
City of Maddock - $50,000 an expansion to the Benson County Event Center
Bottineau County Commission - $31,350 to develop a new horse arena at the fairgrounds
City of Reile’s Acres - $55,000 to develop a new city park
City of Binford - $27,500 for bleachers at the Binford Rodeo Ground; $6,125 for a
restroom and concession facility near the baseball field
Tolna Park Board - $4,000 to construct a bathroom facility at the North Park
Barney Park Board - $1,426 to purchase new playground equipment
Wahpeton Park Board - $3,000 to develop the Kidder Recreation Area tent campground
Milnor Park Board - $1,543 to purchase playground equipment for the Milnor Park
City of Mayville - $896 to construct a walking trail in the city
Berthold Park District - $3,620 to purchase playground equipment for the Berthold Park
