Garrison Diversion Fills Accounting Position

CARRINGTON, ND (April 3, 2017) – The Garrison Diversion Conservancy District (Garrison Diversion) hired Carrington native, Cindy Hewitt, CPA, as the Accounting Specialist. Cindy will oversee the Municipal, Rural and Industrial water supply program, assist with the development and revisions of budgets, and employ general accounting practices in this position.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the Minnesota State University Moorhead. She is a CPA, which is a new capacity for Garrison Diversion, and is an asset to the accounting department.

Cindy comes to Garrison Diversion with extensive experience in the accounting field. Her work experience includes 20 years at Dakota Central, with five years as the company’s CFO. She was most recently employed by the telecomm accounting and consulting firm, Moss Adams, LLP, in TX.

“We are fortunate to have Cindy as a team member,” says Duane DeKrey, Garrison Diversion general manager. “With the recent growth of the Red River Valley Water Supply Project, we have been in need of someone to help share the load of our additional financial responsibilities. With Cindy’s past experience, she brings great strength to our team.”

Cindy recently moved back to Carrington with her husband, Kent. With grown boys now away from home, Cindy is hoping to spend more time involved with community events.
