Project Updates
Senate Bill 2020 in the 2015-2017 biennium enacted legislative intent to fund the RRVWSP with $150M per biennium over four biennia ($600M total).
The ND Legislature also directly appropriated $12.3 million to Garrison Diversion to pursue the state and local project.
The North Dakota State Water Commission’s budget for the 2017-2019 biennium has been approved with up to $30 million slated for the RRVWSP. Of the $30 million grant, $17 million will be directed towards the completion of planning and permitting, while the remaining $13 million is to initiate construction.
The Conceptual Design Report was completed in June 2016 and the Preliminary Design Report for the RRVWSP was completed in February 2018.
Final design of key project components is underway, and includes the initial 28-mile pipeline segment, Sheyenne River Discharge Structure and the Missouri River Intake.
